Amy and Andrew chose to be married in a forest near Adelaide on a golden autumn day. The bride’s upbringing in the hills of Papua New Guinea has given her a deep connection with the wild, she opted to come barefoot to meet her groom, along with her bridesmaids, who wore forest green. All the girls carried bouquets in autumn tonings and even the trees were adorned for the occasion. Amy’s brothers sang for her and the youngest played his trumpet as she walked to meet her groom. Later the bride and groom celebrated with sumptuous food and a bush dance with family and friends. Each guest received a tiny hand made billum (a traditional bag which New Guinea women carry with them) with a gift to a worthy cause given on their behalf.
